Woburn - In the spirit of the 2008 holiday season, members of the Winning Home, Inc. Board of Directors were proud to present $167,000 in grant funding to three organizations in the greater Woburn area. The annual grant program is part of Winning Home’s ongoing commitment to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and their families as is defined by their mission.

The three organizations selected to receive grant money this year were Mission of Deeds, Woburn Council of Social Concern and Boys & Girls Club of Woburn. During the check presentations, Albert “Chip” Curran, Jr., Treasurer and Director of Winning Home, Inc. said, “With the state of the economy this year, we felt it was important to continue to support these three exemplary organizations. We at Winning Home, Inc. applaud all of their staff and directors for their daily work towards bettering the lives of area children and their families. We are proud to play a role and hope to help in that process anyway we can.”

Mission of Deeds will use this year’s funding towards their “2009 Bed for Kids” Campaign. The Woburn Council of Social Concern will use their grant money to support their overall mission, which includes providing low-income families with food assistance and affordable early education and childcare. The Boys & Girls Club of Woburn will use their grant to support their efforts towards increasing family support, providing academic assistance and career development programs for area families.
